How to measure a room before buying furniture

A simple way to measure floor space, doorways and wall height so new furniture fits the first time.

What to check

Measure the floor area of the spot, not just the whole room, and note windows, radiators and sockets.

Check every doorway, stairway and corner on the delivery route. Many returns happen because a piece fits the room but not the hallway.

Leave walking space: around 75 to 90 cm in front of sofas and beds keeps a room comfortable.

Write the numbers down and compare them with the listed dimensions before you press Purchase Now.

Before you buy

Every product on Homora shows the date we checked its price. Purchase Now opens the retailer's product page, where the order is completed.
